Starting in the year 2019, the requirements to operate as a freight agent were modified, one of which is to have a Third-Party Liability insurance policy. The Integral Logistics Policy offers coverage for the freight agent’s civil liability in case of service non-compliance that may cause harm to the client.
Coverage
Damage or loss to merchandise during transportation, transshipment and loading and unloading operations:
The insured is covered for their liability in causing damages or financial losses due to affecting their clients’ goods, resulting from errors, omissions, or non-compliance with their contractual activities, and that have consequently affected the goods.
Temporary storage in customs warehouse or bonded warehouse for up to 90 days:
Coverage is extended for loss or damage to the merchandise due to permanence in bonded warehouse or customs warehouse for up to 90 days, both for total loss and partial damage caused directly by error, omission or breach of its contractual activities and that as a consequence have affected the goods.
Civil liability for error or omission:
The insured is covered for economic losses incurred by its clients, derived from an involuntary error or omission in the performance of the professional activity as a logistics operator.
Delays due to errors and omissions:
The insured is covered for economic losses invoked and accredited by their clients derived from an involuntary error or omission in the performance of their professional activity. The insured is covered in his responsibility for their customer economic losses of his client, not for their own operational losses.
Delivery mishandling due to errors and omissions:
The insured is covered for their liability causing financial losses due to the impact that their customers may experience, generated by an error or omission in the delivery. This is manifested as an error in the dispatch, which refers to the incorrect cargo delivery, resulting in additional costs.
Incorrect information on B/L (Bill of Lading), AWB (Air Waybill), or Land Transport Letter due to errors and omissions:
The insured is covered for their liability for the financial loss caused by an incorrect declaration or omission in their B/L, AWB, land transport letter, or other transportation contract or handling documentation.
Customs procedures for errors and omissions:
The responsibility for the management of procedures before customs is covered, if the insured acts by virtue of a transport contract that includes the order for the handling of the merchandise in customs or customs declarations, or if it receives said type of order for consideration.
